Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Silpi. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your Account

Account creation and sign-in are handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it. Notify us at support@silpi.site if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. What Silpi Does With Your Document

When you upload a PDF, Silpi extracts its text and sends that text to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to generate website content — summaries, extracted profile or paper details, and adapted language for your chosen audience and detail level. You are responsible for the content of anything you upload and for reviewing and editing the AI-generated output before publishing or downloading it. Silpi does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated content, and you should verify it before relying on it or sharing it publicly.

Do not upload documents containing information you do not have the right to share, or sensitive personal information about third parties (for example, someone else's medical, financial, or government ID information) beyond what is ordinarily found in a resume or research paper.

4. License to Your Content

You retain ownership of the document and content you upload. By uploading content, you grant Silpi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process that content solely to provide the service to you — including, if you choose the hosted option, publicly displaying the resulting website at a silpi.site URL (or a custom domain you connect) until you deactivate or delete it, or your account is terminated.

5. Hosted Sites Are Public

If you purchase hosting, your generated site is published at a public URL, may be included in Silpi's sitemap, and may be indexed by search engines. Anyone with the link can view it. You can deactivate (unpublish) or permanently delete a hosted site at any time from your dashboard. Deactivating a site removes public access to it; deleting a site permanently removes it and cannot be undone.

6. Payments and Refunds

Silpi charges a one-time fee for each purchase: currently $20 for a downloadable website file, or $40 for a hosted website. Payments are processed by Stripe; Silpi does not store your card details.

You may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by emailing support@silpi.site. Refunds are issued at our discretion and, if approved, are processed back to your original payment method. Requests made after 7 days will not be honored.

7. Custom Domains

If you connect a custom domain to a hosted site, you are responsible for owning or controlling that domain and for its DNS configuration. Silpi is not responsible for domain registration fees, DNS issues outside our control, or loss of a domain due to non-renewal on your end.

8. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use Silpi to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights;
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or credentials;
• Attempt to bypass payment, access another user's data, or interfere with the service's security or availability;
• Use automated means to scrape, abuse, or overload the service beyond normal individual use.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, at our discretion.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Silpi is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Silpi and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or opportunity, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Silpi in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Silpi harmless from claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Silpi after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
